Description

The scientific name for coconut is Cocos nucifera.The coconut provides a nutritious source of meat, juice, milk, and oil that has fed and nourished populations around the world for generations. Coconut is highly nutritious and rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals.Its trunk is one to two feet in diameter. It has no branches but carries a crown leaves of about 70 to 100 feet above the ground, its leaves is like a feather and with many segments, leaves are usually 10 to 20 feet long.In about 6 years the tree will begin to bear coconut and it will reach its full bearing time at 20 years. A tree may produce 200 coconuts a year, but the average is just around 40.. People use the fruits as ingredients in many dishes, with the water and flesh inside useful in a number of ways. You can also extract oil from the fruit to use for fire torches and in soaps and cooking.
